Farmo's Water Rat (patent pending) is the world's easiest to set up tank and trough water sensor on the market.

Throw it in a trough, or tether it to a tank, and start getting low water level alerts on your phone or computer right away.

When it's floating in a trough, cattle will inspect the Water Rat then quickly leave it alone once they realise they can't push on it (and break it) like a fixed object.

Data is sent via NB-IoT, which is the long-range, low-cost version of 4G for IoT (Internet of Things) devices. The signal for NB-IoT travels further than 3G/4G, so if your mobile phone has any reception on site, then NB-IoT devices will work there. Additionally, NB-IoT transmits on a lower frequency than cellular mobile, so penetration through buildings and cement tanks is better.

Tank or trough should be free of objects that could catch, hold or prevent the Water Rat tilting. Clean and dry before changing battery.

Farmo devices are covered by a 12 month back-to-base warranty. After the standard warranty period expires we apply a pro-rata warranty up to 24 months.

Yes, as long as there’s mobile network coverage (Telstra by default) the device will work. It’s built tough for use in remote or rugged farm conditions.

Yes. Alerts are fully configurable in the Farmo App. For example, you can set the "time since empty" alert to trigger instantly (0 minutes) or with a delay, such as 10 minutes after the water level changes.

Rarely. Because it's free floating in the trough, it's like picking up "an apple in a bucket" with your mouth — very hard to do!
