Are you driving out to check your electric fences only to find a fault and your livestock out on the road? The Farmo Electric Fence Sensor gives you real-time voltage readings from any fence line, straight to your phone. With instant alerts the moment voltage drops below your set threshold, you can find and fix faults faster, protecting your livestock, your perimeter, and your time.
A faulty electric fence offers zero deterrent to stock, predators, or intruders. And in most cases, you won’t know about it until the danger is done. The Farmo Electric Fence Sensor is a simple, reliable monitoring solution that keeps a constant watch on the fence line voltage on your home property or remote block. Compatible with any brand or type of electric fence, it records and reports voltage up to 12,000V, and sends you an immediate SMS or email alert the moment readings fall below your custom threshold.

Simply mount the sensor on a post and clip the sensor leads onto your electric fence: one to the hot wire, and one to the ground wire. Once activated in the Farmo App, the sensor continuously measures the voltage on the fence line and transmits the readings to your phone, connecting via long-range NB-IoT/Cat-M1 cellular networks. When voltage drops below your chosen alert threshold, the device sends an instant notification to your phone via SMS or email, so you can act on a fault before it becomes a bigger problem.
Farmo devices are covered by a 12 month back-to-base warranty. After the standard warranty period expires we apply a pro-rata warranty up to 24 months.
Keep cables protected from damage by livestock. Ensure cable clamps remain firmly attached
Stop driving the boundary just to confirm your fence is live. Get real-time voltage readings from every monitored line in the Farmo App, so you know the moment something changes.
Whether it's a downed wire, a weed short, or a faulty energiser, you'll receive an immediate SMS or email alert the moment voltage drops below your set threshold. The unintentional moving of livestock between properties is a biological hazard and management problem leading to poor breeding timing and performance.
Property invasion by criminals stealing livestock often involves cutting fences which electric fence systems can detect and give instant alerts.
When managing rotational grazing and temporary paddocks the Farmo Electric Fence sensor adds value by showing in real time whether those temporary or internal fences are actually working.
See real-time voltage readings from your fence line in a single feed. Know at a glance whether your fence is live and performing, without setting foot outside.
Set your own voltage threshold and receive instant SMS or email notifications the moment your fence drops below it. Customise which phone numbers and email addresses get alerted so the right people are notified immediately.
Track voltage trends over time to identify recurring faults or gradual degradation. Historical data helps you pinpoint problem sections faster and make smarter maintenance decisions before a fault causes a bigger issue.
Yes. The Farmo Electric Fence Sensor is universally compatible. It works with any type or brand of electric fence. Simply clip the leads onto your hot wire and ground wire, and you're ready to go. No special energiser or wiring is required.
Yes, as long as there’s mobile network coverage (Telstra by default) the device will work. Data is sent over the specialised long distance CatM1/Nb-IoT part of the 4G and 5G networks, so you will find coverage goes further than voice calls on handsets.
No, the sensor doesn’t pinpoint the distance or direction of the fault. Based on the many experiences and testimonies shared by our customers, simply being alerted of a faulty fence line has saved them significant time and hassle.
The lithium battery will last for over a year before needing replacement. Keep the unit positioned out of reach of livestock, and ensure the lead clamps stay firmly attached to the fence wires to maintain reliable readings.
