Are you making spray decisions based on the BOM forecast from the nearest town 50 kilometres away? The Farmo Wind Station delivers real-time wind speed, wind direction, temperature, and humidity data from your exact location, giving you the accurate local conditions you need to work safely and efficiently. With an ultrasonic sensor, no moving parts to maintain, and cellular connectivity built in, you get a set-and-forget weather station that keeps working as hard as you do.
Relying on regional weather forecasts to make on-farm decisions is a gamble that costs time, money, and compliance risk. The Farmo Wind Station is a robust ultrasonic weather monitor built for remote and rugged conditions, designed to give you a precise, local picture of what's actually happening on your property. It measures wind speed (maximum, minimum, and average), wind direction, temperature, and humidity, updating the Farmo App every 10 minutes so you always have a current snapshot at your fingertips. With automatic data logging and configurable alerts, it delivers the operational intelligence you need to make smarter, safer decisions every day.

Simply mount the Wind Station on a post or mast in a clear, unobstructed location away from buildings and trees. The ultrasonic sensor measures wind speed and direction with no moving parts, eliminating wear and the need for regular servicing. Once connected to the Farmo App, the station transmits wind speed, wind direction, temperature, and humidity data at 10-minute intervals directly to your phone or web dashboard. Configure your alert thresholds in the app, and you'll receive an SMS or email notification the moment conditions exceed your set limits.
Farmo devices are covered by a 12 month back-to-base warranty. After the standard warranty period expires we apply a pro-rata warranty up to 24 months.
Power must be supplied at all times or data is not recorded. Keep clean and clear of buildings, trees and objects that could disturb the weather data collection.
Stop cancelling runs because you're unsure of local conditions. Check live wind speed and direction at the paddock before you load the sprayer, so every application is made within safe and effective parameters.
Keep an accurate, timestamped log of on-site wind conditions for every spray event without lifting a pen. The Farmo App stores your historical data so it's ready when your agronomist or regulator asks for it.
The ultrasonic sensor has zero mechanical components to clean, calibrate, or replace. Mount it, connect it, and forget it
Configure the Farmo App to notify you by SMS or email the moment wind speed exceeds your safe spraying threshold or any other measurement hits a limit you've set.
See your current wind speed, direction, temperature, and humidity updated every 10 minutes in a single, unified feed. Know at a glance whether conditions at your property are within your operating parameters before you head out.
Set your own "Weather Triggers." Get an instant SMS if wind speeds exceed 25km/h or if the temperature drops toward a frost risk, giving you the lead time needed to protect your assets.
Access a full timestamped log of historical wind and weather data from your site. Use trend data to identify your most reliable spray windows, meet record-keeping obligations, and make more confident operational decisions over time.
Yes, as long as there’s mobile network coverage (Telstra by default) the device will work. Data is sent over the specialised long distance CatM1/Nb-IoT part of the 4G and 5G networks, so you will find coverage goes further than voice calls on handsets.
You can easily set custom "Weather Triggers" within the Farmo App for any variable, such as high wind speeds, frost-risk temperatures, or a specific amount of rainfall. Simply choose your threshold and select whether you and your team receive notifications via SMS, email, or both.
The Wind Station is available in two power configurations: a 24V DC adapter (requires mains power nearby) or a solar-powered option for off-grid locations. Note that power must be supplied at all times. If power is interrupted, data will not be recorded during that period. The solar-powered variant is recommended for remote sites without reliable mains access.
The Wind Station uses ultrasonic technology, which emits high-frequency sound pulses between a set of transducers and measures how the wind affects the travel time of those pulses. This allows it to calculate precise wind speed and direction with no cups, vanes, or mechanical components to wear out, jam, or require servicing.
