The Farmo IoT Switch gives you real-time remote control of almost any pump, motor, engine, or generator via the Farmo App from anywhere. With a built-in cellular SIM, four flexible control modes, and the ability to link to other Farmo sensors for full automation, it's the most versatile remote switching solution in the Farmo range.

Once installed and activated via the Farmo App, it gives you complete remote monitoring and control from your phone.

Link it to a Farmo tank sensor, soil moisture probe, or any other Farmo device to build a fully automated system that runs itself.

A risk assessment must be completed and actioned before operating machinery remotely.

The Farmo IoT Switch is wired into the control panel, remote start, or circuit board of your pump, motor, engine, or generator. Alternatively, a licensed electrician can install a relay/contactor to control a higher voltage power supply.

The relay switch relay status is controlled by the Farmo App and the digital input feeds the current state of the equipment back to the Farmo App in real time. The built-in NB-IoT/Cat-M1 SIM card connects over the cellular network, and the device communicates with the Farmo App using its real-time MQTT protocol. From the app, you can control the equipment in any of four modes: manual, scheduled, sensor-linked, or a combination of triggers.

Each plan includes the Farmo App, access for up to 5 users, all connectivity fees, unlimited email alerts, 20 SMS alerts per device each month, scheduled reports, and data downloads.

Yes, as long as there’s mobile network coverage (Telstra by default) the device will work. Data is sent over the specialised long distance CatM1/Nb-IoT part of the 4G and 5G networks, so you will find coverage goes further than voice calls on handsets.

Controlled via the Farmo App, the Farmo IoT Switch can be set to operate in the following modes:

  • Manual control: Switch on and off directly from the Farmo App
  • Scheduled control: Switch on and off automatically based on schedules set via the Farmo App
  • Sensor-based control: Switch on and off based on water tank levels or soil moisture
  • Combined triggers: Use a mix of conditions - for example, only switch on when tank levels drop and it’s within a scheduled time window

All modes are fully configurable in the Farmo App, where you can also monitor real-time status and review historical data.

The Farmo IoT Switch can control almost any pump, motor, engine, or generator that has a low-voltage starting circuit (up to 24VDC). Common applications include three-phase bore pumps, diesel engines, irrigation pumps, and generators.

Yes. Unlike the Farmo Smart Plug 240, which plugs into a standard 15A 240V outlet, the Farmo IoT Switch must be installed by a licensed electrical contractor. It is wired directly into the control panel, remote start circuit, or circuit board of your equipment. If you need a DIY option for single-phase 240V equipment with a standard power outlet, the Smart Plug 240 may be more suitable.
