Simply activate the sensor in the Farmo App, drop the Water Rat into your trough, or tether it to a tank. The internal sensor measures the angle of the float to determine water status, instantly transmitting a "Low Water" alert to your phone and your team the moment the level drops.

Farmo devices are covered by a 12 month back-to-base warranty. After the standard warranty period expires we apply a pro-rata warranty up to 24 months.

Tank or trough should be free of objects that could catch, hold or prevent the Water Rat tilting. Clean and dry before changing battery.

Yes, as long as there’s mobile network coverage (Telstra by default) the device will work. It’s built tough for use in remote or rugged farm conditions.

Yes. Alerts are fully configurable in the Farmo App. For example, you can set the "time since empty" alert to trigger instantly (0 minutes) or with a delay, such as 10 minutes, so the trough would need to remain empty for 10 minutes before triggering an alert.

Yes. Because of its floating design and rugged shell, cattle will quickly leave it alone once they realise they can’t push or rub on it like a fixed object. Also Cattle find it hard to pick it up — it’s like apple bobbing!

Absolutely. The Water Rat is completely portable. If you rotate stock to a different paddock, simply bring the sensor with you and drop it in the new trough and let the onboard GPS update its location on the App.

I’ve had a Water Rat for about three and a half years now. The service has been great. What I really like is how easy it is to move around and I only need one Water Rat per mob, not one for every trough. I live an hour from the farm and also work off-farm, so it’s critical for me to know what’s happening at all times. Water is everything for the cows, so having that visibility gives me peace of mind.
