Take the guesswork out of your reticulation and irrigation. The Farmo Water Flow Monitor provides real-time visibility into your water movement, sending instant alerts when daily flow or flow rate reaches your chosen trigger points.
Monitoring water flow across a property is often impossible until you see a flooded paddock or an empty tank. The Farmo Water Flow Monitor is a rugged, inline turbine flow meter designed specifically for the tough Australian environment.
It provides high-precision data (+/- 5% accuracy) on flow rates ranging from 10 L/min up to 300 L/min. The device uses "Edge Processing" to check your flow constantly, reporting every 15 minutes while water is moving.

Farmo technology is not intended to replace human oversight but can allow much more frequent monitoring and provide historical insights for analysis.
Installation is straightforward: The sensor is installed inline into your existing pipework, designed to fit 2" poly pipe or 1 ½" with the included size adaptors (note: rural poly fittings are not included).
Once installed and activated via the Farmo App, it begins counting pulses to calculate flow rate and total volume. The monitor stays in a low-power state to save battery, waking up instantly to transmit data the moment water starts flowing.
Farmo devices are covered by a 12 month back-to-base warranty. After the standard warranty period expires we apply a pro-rata warranty up to 24 months.
Keep water flow free of mud and debris to prevent the turbine clogging up and wearing out prematurely.
Don’t wait until a paddock is underwater or a header tank is bone dry to realize a main line has ruptured. Get an immediate notification if flow spikes above your custom safety threshold, allowing you to shut off the pump before the damage is done.
Get the heads up on leaks especially in winter when the wet spots won't be visible in the paddock.
Use flow meters on trough lines, header tanks and supply pipes to confirm water is actually moving to livestock areas, spot abnormal drops in usage, and reduce the risk of animals being left without water.
Support automatic control systems that start, stop or change irrigation flows. This is relevant where pumps and outlets are automated with the Farmo IoT Switch or Smartplug.
See how many litres are moving through your lines in a single, unified feed.
Set your own rules. Get notified if flow is greater than or less than specific values, giving you time to respond before it's a crisis.
Track trends over time to spot issues that need attention. Compare usage between different paddocks or time periods to identify inefficiencies and make better water management decisions.
Yes, as long as there’s mobile network coverage (Telstra by default) the device will work. Data is sent over the specialised long distance CatM1/Nb-IoT part of the 4G and 5G networks, so you will find coverage goes further than voice calls on handsets.
If you are comfortable working with poly pipe and rural fittings, you can install it yourself. It fits directly into a 2" poly pipe (or 1.5" with adaptors). However, we always recommend a professional installation if you are cutting into main pressurized lines or complex irrigation systems.
The data is updated every 15 minutes when water is flowing. If no flow is detected, the device sends a daily (24-hour) heartbeat report to confirm it’s still online.
You can configure alerts in the Farmo App by choosing whether to receive SMS and/or email notifications, and by setting which phone numbers or email addresses should get them. Automated phone call alerts are also available on request.
